Wine Makers Dinners

In addition to our regular food and wine evenings when we know that a winemaker whose wines we supply to retail, trade and the web site is due to visit Europe we extend an invitation to stay with us at The Old Forge and host a single evening. These rather special events have a one-off menu to compliment the wines that are entirely from that particular producers and are very well subscribed.

Winemakers dinners are held for limited numbers on one night only at The Old Forge Restaurant in Storrington. To be given advance notice an an invitation to both Winemakers Dinners and our Food & Wine Evenings simply subscribe to our low-volume e-news letter or send an email.

Bodega y Cavas de Weinert

In April we were most fortunate to have Iduna Weinert visit. We were all most impressed, and all the gentlemen charmed, by this stunning and most knowledgeable young lady. Naturally one would expect her to know the wines of Bodega y Cavas de Weinert superbly well, but Miss Weinert was also very well informed on all wines from South America and impressively so of many 'old world wines'. It was an excellent and most interesting evening and we look forward to subsequent visits by Iduna. Weinert need have no fear for the future while this young lady is promoting their most excellent wines.

Wente Vineyards

We were delighted to welcome Eric Wente to The Old Forge on the 20th June for another of our wine makers dinners. The wines were, as one might expect, rather good and our Head Chef, Will Murgatroyd, created yet another menu that nicely matched the flavours and strengths of the wines.
